Flamingo Rampant Champions cohort
bring the love in february for a flamingo rampant book
We are looking for “champions” for the month of February for our Flamingo Love campaign!
What you’ll do:
Your task will be to pick one Flamingo Rampant title, and spend February hyping that title (and FR generally) however you think best - social media, placing articles, calling libraries, the sky’s the limit. We’ll give you 5 copies to give away to help you out, and all the giveaway winners will be entered for a grand prize of $100 FR Gift Card at the end, but we won’t give a lot of direction except some basic guidelines - this will be your character solo.
What you’ll get:
a copy of your chosen book to keep.
we will write you a reference for future use, fill out whatever forms you need to get credit, or both
A two hour Q&A (as a group) to ask any and all publishing questions you may have.
Your metrics (how many of your book sold during February, and we will also tell you if you were ranked in the top 5.)
What’s in it for you:
More queer and trans books in the world, a big middle finger to book-banners and fascists, an opportunity to learn about publishing, the possibility of college/university credit, the chance to meet other awesome people who love queer and trans children’s books.
How to apply:
Send an email by using the contact form by JAN 17th and tell us: what 3 books you would most like to champion (rank them 1-3), why you’re right for the job, and what you love about your #1 choice book. Feel free to submit text, video, slides, or whatever you think shows off your skills (you can’t attach files, so please Include a link where we can view whatever you made). We will let you know by Jan 25th if you got a spot.
Who should apply:
Anyone can apply, but especially students in publishing, marketing, communications, education, and related fields or people just starting out in publishing/marketing/pr who want a campaign to show prospective employers are encouraged. We are looking for self-starters with great digital skills, so if you’re not sure where to find things or how to link your work this probably isn’t the right project for you.
